Sigló Freeride - Ultimate Freeride Experience

Sigló Freeride 2025 the Ultimate Freeride Experience In Iceland. Sigló Freeride has been making a name for itself the past few years, growing with each event. This April 2025 will mark the fourth time it will be helt and I‘m sure this year will top the last. This epic ski and snowboarding event takes place in the skiing area of Siglufjörður and it is the perfect event for everyone that loves to freeride, have fun and meet people from all over the world with the same passion as them. Of course there will also be plenty of good music to keep up the energy high! How does it work you might ask? I‘ll break it down for you:

Thursday

The festival kicks off on Thursday where people come and settle in and pick up their wristbands for the weekend. Last year GG sport was there to showcase next season gear and you could preorder items you liked.

Friday

There is a casual fun competition at the ski resort in the morning. The main activity for the day starts midday at the Red Bull chill zone that is located up in the skiing area where the lift ends. In the chill zone a DJ is playing, beer and snacks will be sold. As night falls, head over to Segull 67 for a party featuring some fantastic Icelandic artists.

Saturday

Saturday is competition day! After a morning meeting, competitors hit the mountain. While the event is going on the DJ will be playing in the chill zone so it is also a lot of fun for people that are not competing. In the evening there is an after party, last year featured some really big Icelandic names playing like Herra Hnetusmjör and DJ Doctor Victor.

Sunday

Sunday is reserved as a safety day for the competiton in case of weather delays. If everything goes as planned, it is the perfect day to unwind, going to the swimning pool and say goodbye to new friends before going back home. Even if you’re not competing, Siglufjörður is the place to be during this time. The whole town and the ski area come alive with the spirit of the festival, skiing with live DJ on the slopes is experience not to be missed!
